Tom Miller joined Liza Dawson Associates as a senior literary agent in summer 2018 after three years as literary agent with the Carol Mann Agency. Prior to becoming an agent, Tom held executive and senior-level editorial positions with Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins, Wiley, and McGraw-Hill. As an editor, Tom acquired and edited numerous New York Times bestselling and prize-winning books by authors including Deepak Chopra, Jared Diamond, Judy Collins, Steve Forbes, Drs. Michael and Mary Dan Eades, Erica Jong, Jack Cafferty, Ginger Rogers, Kirk Douglas, Dame Beryl Bainbridge, Shirley Temple Black, Anna Murdoch, Oliver North, Annette Funicello, Dr. Loren Cordain, Charles Busch, Brian Wilson, Erich Schiffmann, and Peter Straub. He graduated from Harvard College with a degree in English, French, and German literatures.
Liza established Liza Dawson Associates following a successful 20-year career in book publishing, including posts as executive editor of Putnam Publishing and executive editor at William Morrow. She received her B.A. in history from Duke University and is a graduate of the Radcliffe Publishing Procedures course.
Liza is on the board of the AAR (the Association of Author’s Representatives). She belongs to the Author’s Guild, the Mystery Writers of America, International Thriller Writers Inc and The Women’s Media Group.
Caitlin Blasdell has been a literary agent with Liza Dawson Associates since 2002 with a list split evenly between adult and children’s books. Before becoming an agent, she was a senior editor at HarperCollins Publishers. A graduate of Williams College, she lives in Westchester with her husband and four sons.
Havis Dawson is the agency’s CFO and foreign-rights manager.
Havis works closely with a network of fifteen high-profile co-agents around the globe to sell translation rights for LDA titles in every language.
An Alabama native, Havis moved to New York after his graduation from Duke University. For twenty years, he was an award-winning editor of business-trade magazines, including a top win for tracing the decline and fall of Detroit’s Stroh Brewing Company.
Hannah Bowman joined Liza Dawson Associates as an agent in 2011. She graduated from Cornell University in 2009, earning a B.A. in English and mathematics. While a student, she spent four summers working in particle physics at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. She is also an organist. She lives in Los Angeles.
Monica Odom is an agent at Liza Dawson Associates, where she represents a variety of nonfiction, literary and upmarket fiction, and illustrators. Monica earned her Masters in Publishing: Digital & Print Media from New York University in 2014, and has a B.A. in English from Montclair State University. She was also schooled in bookselling and event coordinating at her local indie, Watchung Booksellers. She loves to see a personal project turn into something original and surprising, and is committed to the expansion of diversity and inclusivity in the publishing industry.

Caitie Flum joined Liza Dawson Associates in July 2014 as assistant and audio rights manager. She graduated from Hofstra University in 2009 with a B.A. in English with a concentration in publishing studies. She interned at Hachette Book Group and Writers House. She was an editorial assistant then coordinator for Bookspan, where she worked on several clubs including the Book-of-the-Month Club, The Good Cook, and the Children’s Book-of-the-Month Club.
Joanne Fallert is the agency’s contracts and payments manager. A graduate of the University of Scranton in Communications and English, Joanne moved into her role at LDA after a decade’s experience at Simon & Schuster and HarperCollins in subsidiary rights, contracts and permissions. She left that role to raise her children, and now she is thrilled to be back working in the industry she loves.
