HAVIS DAWSON
An Alabama native, Havis moved to New York after his graduation from Duke in 1978 (and after a post-grad year at the University of Alabama Law School demonstrated to Havis that his quirky humor was not prized in legal briefs). For twenty years, Havis was an editor of business-trade magazines, ultimately editor-in-chief and publisher of Beverage World magazine, during which tenure he won a top business-journalism award for his work tracing the decline and fall of Detroit's Stroh Brewing Company. Havis is the author of WRITING BUSINESS LETTERS AND MEMOS (Longmeadow). Havis specializes in: military memoirs, southern fiction, fantasy, thrillers, business and practical books, as well as spiritual and self-help books.
